Parks in New Zealand (Or at least this park close to our house)

Kia Ora! On a nice almost spring day Daniel and I decided to go for a walk and we ended up at a park not too far from our house. We had fun checking out what parks in New Zealand are like. And, even though Daniel is a little bit older than the intended age for this park, I believe, we still had fun.

First up was this disc spinning thing. It spins around but it seems like you would not want to spin too quickly or someone is going to go flying off (if you had little ones in there). It was fun, but I couldn't be on it too long or I'd get a bit motion sick.

You may have to zoom in on this next picture to get the details, but essentially it's like a jungle gym made up of ropes. You can climb down into ropes, over ropes, stand on little discs as you climb. It looks pretty cool!

Then you have this teeny little mini trampoline. I suppose this probably keeps kids from breaking bones while they are jumping as you wouldn't get much height on this thing.

Here's the bathroom at the park, painted to be just as bright and colorful as the things to play on there. I love how it isn't an eyesore.

I really have no idea why I took this picture, maybe to show you some of the plant life around the park? But, I'm sure I had a good reason so I am going to share this picture with you. I hope you enjoy it.

I'm not entirely certain about these, I think they are just to look colorful and fun, but maybe they have another purpose that I don't know? I'll have to ask a kiwi friend. If they are just supposed to look colorful and fun then mission is accomplished. I loved the bright colors of these eels.

Next up is this tire swing with ropes instead of a tire. And this one I was all for trying out as well. We had fun lying (laying?) there taking a little break from playing. We spun it around and pushed off. I could have sat there reading a book for a while and enjoyed this all by myself.

They had these stepping stones and wood things. I've mentioned it, but this was just a super colorful park, making it appealing and enticing to want to visit. The big stones had wooden planks for children to walk across, working on keeping their balance!

And, there you have it! One New Zealand neighborhood park. It's right next to a school so I would imagine it gets a lot of play. There were also a couple picnic tables/benches nearby. And there's a very large open, grassy area. Though I wish there were more trees at this park, especially come summertime I think you'd want some shade to cool off in, it's still nice that's it's not too far away and seems to be well-loved.

On the way home we stopped at a little pond and I snapped this photo. I'm curious about the plants in the netted area and who went out there and put it up? I may never know.

With love from New Zealand,
Lyndsay
